Volatile debuff was nerfed in pvp some time ago. You have to do a set amount of damage after volatile is applied for it to detonate. Not sure of the number off the top of my head but pretty much have to kill them to proc it. 1.Volatile Rounds can pierce Barrier Champion shields. Volatile covers the target in Void particles, causing them to explode if they take enough damage. Enemies in PvE explode with minimal damage required, while Guardians in the Crucible explode after they take around 200 damage. ….
